You keep Zegras over EEK any day.

Zegras is a 100 point potential guy (doesn't mean he ever hits it but he is supremely talented). EEK is not.

That's why Minn takes him but he's not what the Sabres need, EEK is what the Sabres need- Zegras needs to be a 1C and he's not better than Thompson so not here.

Ducks can flip Olofsson for a third and Comrie for a 5th at some point in the season.

Except Cozens is a winner and is a star sooooo. But ya 100% he's a better player right now and in the future than Zegras. Scoring fancy goals doesn't make you a top player. Cozens truly does it all. I don't think Zegras will ever drop the gloves to defend a teammate or be grinding in the corners. I could be wrong but I'll take the Yukon product all day

That's a lot for a 23-goal scorer. Sure, the potential for more is there, but he has serious defensive woes at this point. Savoie was also drafted #9 overall.

Not sure what Ducks fans expect for a 23-goal scorer. In this scenario, you'd be getting a player with just as much potential in Savoie, who would be on an ELC for 3 years, and more...

As a Sabres fan, I don't see the point in this trade. It's too much to give up.

Saying that Zegras is only 2% better than Casey Mittelstadt is a royal joke. It took Mittelstadt 5 seasons to hit the 59 point mark where Zegras has 61 and 65 points in years 2 and 3. Zegras is a country mile better than Mittelstadt will ever be.

Casey has been good for the last three seasons, he had a coach who was the 21st century version of Ted Nolan, for two of those seasons.
