There is no need for the Hawks to make this deal, they already have Perry, Foligno, TJ, Athanasiou, Hall, Jones, Murphy, Tinordi so “veteran presence” is no longer a need.

Carter at best these days is a third line player and has been mentioned frequently on this site the Hawks currently hav e at least 9 guys competing for the bottom six forward spots.

So given there is no need or spots for Carter, the Penguins would need to knock Davidson’s sock off in order for him to make a deal for Carter… this proposal doesn’t do that.
