Well LD isn't as weak as it used to be, and I wouldn't trade Samuelsson. But I would do this if Johnson was there instead of Samuelsson.

I can say, that Samuelsson is one of untouchables.

Defensive defenseman is an area of weakness for a team that bleeds high danger chances. Has nothing to do with handedness for me. I wouldn’t trade Ryan Johnson. Huge believer.

I really like Ryan Johnson, and think he could be Powers future partner, and I would not have used him here. But Novikov has been even more than expected. And Luneau gives me a Defenseman at a Weaker Position and should be ready next year. Fabulous 2 way Defender

As an Anaheim fan, I can't see Buffalo doing this, or really anything like it. Buffalo's current forward corps plus their pipeline -- Kulich, Rosen, Ostlund, Benson in addition to Savoie -- makes Zegras a luxury, not a necessity, and once you have 3/4 of a great young defense, you don't trade away a major piece of it.

But we don’t need any more offensive forwards who don’t do much defensively- it would be overkill & we should’ve learned by now building a team that way doesn’t win in the playoffs (Leafs)
