Chicago should not be trading away draft picks any time soon.

It’s none of chicagos picks and the likelinesses of any of those picks turning into a zegras esce player is low.

Zegras would also help sell tickets and bring more viewership. Bedard/ zegras would turn the Blackhawk’s into a powerhouse market again.

Zegras as shown in Anaheim isn’t enough to turn them into a contender. I’d bet because of their defence and goalie tandem they still finish bottom 6 in the league meaning they still could get a top tier prospect with their pick.

They also have assets like Murphy/ Johnson( with retainment)/ raddysh/ Dickinson (with retainment) and even hall with retainment that they could ship off for picks

They're still top round picks for a team that just finished in the league basement. Bedard isn't enough by himself to carry this team back into the playoffs. The Hawks should be focused on building the best prospect pool they can. While Zegras is a promising player, he's also only 4 years away from UFA eligibility. That's around the time that the Hawks will be looking to compete again. If they use the three picks you're trading away here, that's 3 players that could turn into top quality pieces under team control for the next 8-10 years.

Chicago shouldn't trade away high round draft picks under almost any circumstances.

Hawks aren't making that trade. Trading away 5 high end assets for one high end asset isn't a smart move for a team in the early stages of a rebuild.

Chicago traded Dach because he was too old for their rebuild, they're not trading for Zegras.

They're going to draft as many high picks as they can for the next 3-5 years.
