Hope they do; it seems like a perfect fit given their cap constraints

Thanks! Big ouch for the Sens. I would not be surprised if multiple teams put an offer in on JBD.

I can see Arizona, Colorado, Pittsburgh and maybe even the Leafs putting a claim in on him. I am sure there are several other teams.

Losing Thompson and JBD is very poor asset management on Ottawas side of things.

You can’t fault the team or the front office if neither player is good enough to make the team. Frankly, Sokolov has been outplayed by Smjelka and Jarventie.

The Sokolov loss isn't hat I was commenting on. He could very easily clear waivers.

Losing 2 x recent first round, RD's for nothing is what I was commenting on. Losing Thopson and JBD within a few days is very bad. Signing a guy like Hamonic is the reason for it.

if I remember correctly, they didn't want to include either guy in the Chychrun trade, because they wanted to keep them. Just to lose them a few months later for nothing. Just odd asset management.

I still like a lot of what Dorion is doing, but these 2 are just strange to me.

I would like the Canucks to benefit from Dorion's stupidity but other teams who pick before will do, sorry

      Santa Dorion in Da house!

It's been totally inexistant under Dorion's tenure. Like INEXISTANT so this is actually not even noteworthy in Dorion's resume. He's just awful at his job

Hamonic is an adventure defensively, the only things he does well is shoot the puck and block shots with any part of his body. We basically lost 2 RHDs 22 y/o for a washed up Hamonic lol

Low and behold in hindsight, that JBD passed waiver and Thompson ended back up in Ottawa.

I think that there was interest, however the salary cap prevented some teams.

He probably knew that both of them would pass through waivers.

Also with Matinpalo and Guennette they have serious internal competition.
