Description

How do they get the guy going, he has been borderline invisible so far this season but you can see he has all the tools. I think similar to breaking up Huberdeau and Lindholm last season they were too quick to pull the trigger on demoting him. He has a few decent enough metrics in a small sample size that I think he can build on playing with Lindholm and Mangiapane, I also think that line could be a real matchup problem for other teams in terms of shutting down other teams top lines while having some punch on offence.

Huberdeau has been fine so far but he had some flashes with Backlund last year, Coronato has been one of their most dangerous forwards with Backlund and I think this line could really be really effective

Third line give Kadri a safety net in Coleman and a ton of speed to carry the puck in, everyone on that line wins puck battles in the O-zone and I think that Kadri becomes more dangerous with sustained zone time as opposed to one chance off the rush and then having to play defense.

Greer and Duehr have been super effective on the 4th line and played their roles as well as they can, Ruzicka has bounced around but needs to solidify a spot in the roster, he Dube and Kadri were not good together and I don't think running him up and down the line up is helping find a spot.

Weegar and Andersson should be the top pair, whatever happens beyond that is what it is.

Main point of all this, Devils fans, Flames fans, what get Sharangovich going... Other than Jack Hughes.

Jack Hughes. He couldn't really find a place in NJD last year either, which was disappointing bc he has all the talent to be a very versatile 2 way player with a great shot

He played very well along side Jack, who would set him up with golden chances on a platter. So I imagine playing with a good line-driving center may help.

He is also a super-humble kid (one of the good guys that is hard not to root for). But that eventually came to his detriment. While he always remained ‘happy to be here’…being content on just being in lineup didn’t make him hungry. He has so much potential…he needs to fight for it.

One place he always trived in NJD lineup was on PK. He has that long reach and quick stick, it led to many counter-rushes. (I always thought NJD should have converted him back to his natural position, center, and turn him into defensive 3C…but that is another conversation). Playing on PK seemed to be a source of confidence for him. He go a week without a shot on net, get one good PK chance, then lead team in shots over next few games. I’d keep him in PK rotation.

His shot is way too good to be a 16-goal guy. Devils fans can all probably tell you how often they were left yelling, “shoot it!”. We often had opposite problem with Miles Wood (who would always shoot, from anywhere, every time). Yegor needs to take a play from Wood’s playbook and shoot more often.

Just give Yegor more ice time both at Even Strength and on the PK; it’s only been 3 games, he needs time to adjust yet

I agree with @NHLfan10506, he can be used at Centre and be a shooter on that 4th line, especially since he doesn’t need to take as many Faceoffs. Both Greer & Duehr are good players and they should all start scoring and contributing offensively together soon here. If he needs a setup man, move Duehr up and put Ruzicka at 4RW, he has a wicked backhand pass on the fly and excellent offensive awareness (yes, he still needs to work on other areas of his game and at becoming more consistent)

Sharangovich isn’t a Top-Line Player. Huberdeau, Lindholm & Kadri are though:

Coleman-Dube-Duehr
Greer-Sharangovich-Ruzicka
OR
Dube-Sharangovich-Coleman
Greer-Ruzicka-Duehr

Huberdeau, Kadri, Mang & Coronato are the Snipers and should be in our Top 2 Lines. Wish we had a better Playmaking Centre than Backlund, but he’s what we got. Could try Dube at 2C, bring in Paul Stastny or Trade Hanifin for one though

If Kadri does stay at Centre, I like that line and have been calling for Coleman to be with his this whole time. I agree with your D-Pairings 100%, but it would be nice to get another Big/Physical RD like we had in Gudbranson, like Andrew Peeke or Phillip Myers in a Trade for Vladar perhaps

Three guys that might also be worth targeting for the 4C role are Jaret Anderson-Dolan, Paul Statsny and Big Mark Jankowski

I think a lot of people can imagine trading a 32 year old at the end of his deal for a 25 year old under team control that can skate on a team that lacked foot speed... Pretty simple really. If you don't understand how team control works then that's a you issue and no one else.

Feels like a really good guy to carry the puck on the PP, they've had Andersson do it on the first unit which has been clunky at best but Sharangovich on the second unit would definitely be interesting. Been really good on the PK so far.

Another comment here had suggested he sees PP time, what do you think about that? I know the Flames liked him for his foot speed and he feels like a good transporter of the puck. Sounds like Yegor would have loved Sutter! Shoot from everywhere and pray for a bounce!

Speed, long-reach, quick stick, quick release, accurate wrister. Those are strengths.
Would stick with regular PK time and middle-six 5v5 time.

Does every career half point per game 25 year old deserve to be in the AHL or are you just trying to be petty at this point cause you came into the conversation with something stupid from the start?
