This is so confusing just got the trade machine and you will have a better time doing 3 team trades.

Everyone knew they weren’t going to be good. I don’t know what Brisebois thought. Running with Tomkins when Jones Stalock Delia etc were all available. Not making the playoffs

I won't be surprised if they're near the bottom of the division nor do I care if they trade stamkos, I just want a better return than that

Wow really? I thought I took too much
      2 decent prospects
      1st
      2cd
      2 3rds
      4th
      For
      Stamkos and 2 7ths

I guess you could get more from Boston? Or another divisional rival?

But truly if you want more trade now…

It’s not a good look, I doubt they do it…but my point if there is one is that it can be easy to recoup picks.

the main thing im looking for is a young proven player with top 6 potential at least, especially if they trade him now

quite literally this. If TB's trading away a quality top 6 player and one of the most important players of the franchise, you'd probably want someone that's younger and seems ready to play in the top 6, on top of that draft capital, in return too.

De Angelo didn't work out once in TB's system, so I have a belief TB won't be interested in him again. Not saying Stamkos will waive, but Carolina's got the pieces, they're just not there in this trade.

Why would a contending team trade a young top 6 ready proven guy for an aging rental? I doubt they give up a roster guy but rather then being vague go for it…what’s the scenario?

I think a team like Carolina that folded during the eastern conference finals might value a player that captained two cup winning teams. It’s a GM locker room thing than an analytics thing.

Canes just drafted Nadeau, they aren’t going to move him anytime soon. And with the moves the Canes made this off-season, it looks as though Morrow isn’t available anymore.

Stamkos is a great player, but where he is in his career right now, I don’t think he would be the best fit for the Canes.

Honestly the best thing i can think of that might possibly match a Stamkos trade is the Giroux trade with Owen Tippet going back to the Flyers, with a conditional first and third. Precedent might be similar, and I think Carolina has some decent pieces.

Unless things I changed I remember Necas being involved in a lot of rumors last season, so TB might try and target him if he's still an option and available.
Since Carolina doesn't have an AHL affiliate/no AHL system, futures of guys like Gunler, Rees, etc are all being thrown on loan, so why not move one or two of those guys out for a guy that can impact the roster like Stamkos would, especially if retention is involved.

If Carolina would be willing to move Necas (and with Waddell/Canes generally being cheap), freeing up Necas' 3M hit and sending it to TB plus a prospect, or some combination of a conditional first and a third or at the very least something similar to a Giroux type deal doesn't really seem crazy. At least to me, but there have been stranger ideas on this website hah
