Calgary doesn’t need to move Kadri and if they did, he isn’t a negative asset

I think he is a negative asset. 7x6 and he is already declining, that contract would look horrendous in 2-3 years; already looks bad.

He is a bad contract, but again, the flames have no need to trade him. The Leafs equivalent of this trade would be the Isles wanting JT back, so they say :  « For taking on Tavares’ contract, the Leafs have to add Nylander half retained ».

Funny you leaf fans keeping saying cap I going up but now the contract is bad and you have to pay to unload it. Laughable

Why do I see so many ACGMs with Leafs fans being insanely confident in a goalie with 13 games of experience? Not to mention Martin Jones as a backup.

Yeah I agree with that, unrealistic they would attach Hanifin when they could get key assets in return. Don't think the Leafs do that either with the long-term risk involved and Hanifin being a pending FA

Yeah sorry, there is absolutely no chance the flames make that trade. Seems extraordinarily one sided.

Disagree. Him and Huberdeau are negative assets, unfortunately. With that said, on different teams they'll be more productive.

He's paid fairly. His trade value due to age and term is quite low though

The Kadri contract is, well, bad; but to call him a negative asset at this point is nuts.

He has one fat year, and suddenly that is the expectation? Come on🤣🤣🤣

Kadri is what he is - a 60 point centre how is a complete thorn in the side.

As for the deal - no for both clubs.

1. Conroy would be lynched if he were to add Hanafin as a "sweetner".

2. The Leafs ideally would be looking for a younger C in order to transition Taveres to the wing. Why else would they even think about Nylander there?

3. Kadri is likely to transition to the wing next year with Zary coming; which I have to think buys a couple more years of effective Kadri.

Just a horrible idea all around

Agreed. As it stands right now as the original comment had mentioned the Flames have no need to move him and if they were it wouldn’t be a negative value trade. Hes more valuable to the Flames now than he would be in a trade which isn’t a ringing endorsement but the doom and gloom is unjustified. Especially when his buyout by 2026 is super palatable.
