    2. 2024 3rd round pick (BOS)
    Additional Details:
    3 Team Trade with Vancouver.

    Note***
This trade only happen if Fabbri, once returned from injury, stays healthy until the deadline and produces at his regular rate.

Washington retains for the one year on Mantha so that Vancouver has the same cap hit this year. Capitals also save 1M in cap space in this deal. I have them adding the 3rd since they save cap and only retain for the single year. Capitals end up with a speedy winger than can play centre of needed. If he can stay healthy, which is what this trade hinges on, is an effective player and at 2M would be a good deal.
    WSH
    1. Fabbri, Robby ($2,000,000 retained)
    Additional Details:
WAS - Fabbri, 2M retained by DET

DET - Garland, 1.45M retained by VAN

VAN - Mantha, 2.7M retained by WAS, 2024 3rd Round Pick WAS
    8.
    DET
    1. Garland, Conor ($1,950,000 retained)
    Additional Details:
    3 Team Trade with Washington.

Vancouver is able to move on from Garland, which they seem to want to do. This trade, although doesn't have any cap savings this year, has 3M in cap savings the following two years. With Pettersson and Hronek extensions looming, that cap savings could be quite significant. They can play Mantha this year and see if he can produce for a short stint. I sent Vancouver the 3rd since they are retaining for 3 years and still giving up, what I think it's a pretty decent player just overpaid.
    VAN
    1. Mantha, Anthony
    2. 2024 3rd round pick (BOS)
    Additional Details:
WAS - Fabbri, 2M retained by DET

DET - Garland, 1.95M retained by VAN

VAN - Mantha, 2.7M retained by WAS, 2024 3rd Round Pick WAS

Detroit gains an effective middle 6/ bottom 6 player who I feel can fit the roll better than Fabbri. He posts decent possession numbers and at a 3M cap hit, could be pretty good value.

Canucks won’t be be taking on Mantha, even at half salary, and retaining $6M over 3 seasons for just a 3rd round pick.

Why bother? Outside of Frost, the wings aren’t getting much out of all this. And with all the moves they’ve made the last couple seasons to go and throw away any continuity they’ve fostered surely scraps the current season as well. If the wings decide to truly sell, Sprong, Perron and Ghost hopefully would all fetch more, and Veleno should be in the talks as a Hagel, Jeannot type rfa that a team gives up too many draft picks for. That said, I don’t want to sell Veleno or anyone this season.

    To summarise:

Detroit giving up: Sprong, Perron, Fischer, Gostisbehere, and Fabbri.

    Detroit gaining: Frost, Garland, 2nd in 2025, 3rd in 2025, a 5th, and a 6th.

Giving up a total of 5 NHL players to get two back that aren't even that exciting doesn't seem like a good deal to me.

The way Ghost is playing right now he should net more than a 3rd at the deadline.
Perron seems to be an OK deal and turning that 2nd into Frost looks OK too.
I'd much rather keep Fabbri and Sprong than trading them for Garland. Garland isn't going to be better than what we already have.

I mean sure but if I'm Washington I just let manthas deal expire or trade him for garland directly, Fabbri does nothing for them. I love getting frost I'd do that right now if they could.

I'd actually consider that trade. I loved Fischer in Arizona, definitely a solid depth winger.

As long as Tampa can find a way to have another team retain on Sprong as part of a 3 team trade, they should accept. At 50% retained, Tampa could make it work with a couple of other smaller cap moves.
