No, but its widely regarded that he was involved, whether he was the main culprit or not remains to be seen, but either way process of elimination has him involved. A lot of red flags, considering he has the talent to be in a top 9 position.

It’s pretty unlikely Pinto come back this season. He is out at least half the season (and if I’m not mistaken his suspension start when he signs his contract)

I thought Friedman mentioned it was from the start of the year for the Sens. Did that change?

Ottawa didn't just suddenly decide they were better without him. He's one of the fastest players in the game, and he was a good middle six scorer and elite PK threat. He's not playing in Switzerland because he loves the mountains

I highly doubt that Formenton is brought back to the NHL (or any team in NA) the allegations against him are that serious.

It’s pretty unlikely Pinto come back this season.

Why? He can technically play in January, it would be like if he was injured before

    Sens issued this today :

“We were made aware of the National Hockey League investigation into this matter and additional information was made available to the club upon the completion of the league’s investigation yesterday," The Senators said in a statement alongside Pinto's. "Shane is a valued member of our hockey club; an engaging, intelligent young man who made poor decisions that have resulted in a suspension by the National Hockey League. We know he is remorseful for his mistakes.

"The Ottawa Senators fully support the NHL’s rules on gambling. While saddened to learn of this issue, the entire organization remains committed to Shane and will work together to do what is necessary to help provide the support to allow him to address his issues and become a strong contributor to our community.

"When the time is right and with the league’s blessing, we will welcome him back to the organization and embrace him as one of our own.”

He would need to sign a contract now. To have a suspension, you need to have a contract. So, unless there is an exception, if he doesn’t sign a contract, his 41 games won’t start.

Told Pinto’s suspension officially begins with Game 1 of Ottawa’s season, and is not dependent on him signing a contract.
