So this is a flawed premise from the jump….

I've got good news and bad news for you.

The bad news is if for some reason the Canucks agree to trade Demko to Buffalo, they're not replacing him with Ullmark, because Buffalo is trading Levi to the Canucks who have decided to go with a cheap young goalie Tandom for some reason. But the good news is you're not making a Tandem of Demko and Levi, which is a really bad idea (that's going to create all sorts of issues, take it from a Canucks fan who is from the land of Goalie controversies).

I would target Markstrom with 50% retention. It's cheaper and makes sense.

Sabres also wouldn’t trade for Demko with this. Casey Mittelstadt has 23 points in his last 18 games and Jokiharju is on our second pair. I doubt the Sabres would have interest in trading those two together for Demko, let alone adding a second and UPL.

No reason for the Sabres to give all that up for Demko if they can get Ullmark for UPL & a 2nd
