So Chicago can sexually assault their players for years without punishment, but ottawa can't hide a no trade that you easily find the details on (this site). Makes sense, how do we protest this

Everyone involved lost their job (except Cheveldayoff...WPG) and a criminal investigation was formed/conducted/concluded and the owner is now dead. That's the real life...nothing to do with picks.

I feel like it’s better just to get it over with tbh. Unless the 2024 is a lottery pick I feel like giving up the 2024 makes the most sense. The Sens are clearly not contending this year so it would make more sense to keep your later 1st round picks for trade deadlines in future seasons when you want to get a big piece to complete puzzle when ur in a place to contend. Plus you have another 1st this year already anyway. Just my first thoughts on it. I know everyone will immediately go to the 2026 pick but you don’t want that pick to somehow be a lottery pick that you give up or want to make a splash in a trade and not have enough resources to get it done

The league was never going to make Chicago forfeit a lottery pick anyway so Bedard would have been in Chicago anyway even tho it’s completely undeserved

I don't prescribe to conspiracy theories. Absolutely awful thing that happened. Everyone deserved to lose their jobs, if not jail time! I was (and am still) in favor of making the Wirtz family sell the team just like the Clippers (NBA) and Commanders (NFL) did. The NHL obviously hasn't done that, but should. That situation has nothing to do with hockey and there will be no amount of draft picks to justify what happened.

Everyone was praising Dorion at the start of the season, now they want him gone? I understand this was a huge mistake and the punishment is what the NHL has always done for teams that go behind the leagues back. Even Bettman's precious Coyotes lol

Rumour is Dorion is gone at the presser at 3:15...

...for Chiarelli lmao.

I'd be surprised if chia came in immediately given the timeframes, but apparently the connection is thete

Since Dorion firing as overdue for 3 years, losing that 1st might be a blessing in disguise. It stops the bleeding at least. Doion has squandered a lot more than that over the years with his non-existent asset management.

It actually makes the LEAST sense...

Since the Sens are trying to get better, it makes sense to hope that their 2025 or 2026 pick will be later in the round than their 2024 pick... It also delays the loss and allows the team to draft a player earlier, a player that could help during their desired window of contention

I don't see any argument the other way

If the 2026 pick is "lottery", then it means that the rebuild totally failed so you have to rebuild again.

Among Sens fans? No, at least 80% have wanted him gone for 2-3 years minimum, many since the Zibanejad trade.
