Calgary accepts the Hanifin deal and maybe the Oesterle deal. The rest are all lowball offers that get declined hard.

If Columbus adds Sillinger and removes the ridiculous conditions on that 2024 1st Calgary accepts that deal too.

Tanev will easily fetch a 1st and probably more with 50% retention at the trade deadline. Zadorov might too but we'd prefer to extend and keep him.

A 4th for Vladar is an insult. A 3rd would be selling quite low, it'll take a 2nd, a B prospect or a decent young bottom 6 / 3rd pairing skater.

Not saying he's worth more than Tanev but you have to realize Z is exactly the type of big mean hard hitting defenseman contenders trade a late 1st and more for every year at the trade deadline.

Still I'd rather extend and keep him for the rebuild. It's nice having a guy like that around to keep other teams from taking too many liberties with the young guys. I'd probably be making Zadorov, Weegar, Andersson or Coleman captain too.

You forgot to Trade Dube, especially considering we have Ruzicka, Pelletier, Zary and Honzek, not to mention you picked up Garland who VAN is willing to retain up to 30% on btw

Honestly, I’m ready to move on from Lindholm, Hanifin, Tanev, Dube & Oesterle and if the price is right Zadorov, Vladar, Greer and Gilbert as well. Team needs new Energy and Guys who want to be there and in Tanev’s case, someone Younger & More Reliable

I think there's something to build around with Sillinger and a 1st being the centerpiece of that deal, but the condition would drop to top-10 protected and the 2nd would have to be dropped from the deal. Otherwise, you're simply better off shopping him elsewhere. Competing teams would pay a premium at the TDL for a great, cheap 2C. Rebuilding teams that view him as a luxury right now, considering he doesn't get them into the playoffs/over the hump, who also think there's a realistic chance of singing him July 1st...don't.

Really? Vladar is 57/62 goalies to play 2+ games this year in GSAx, and 87/99 in the same metric last season. Yet he's 43rd in the league in cap hit (ahead of guys like Raanta and Talbot), signed through next season, and already 26 (so hardly a prospect). He's below replacement-level in performance, yet paid like a good backup. I'd be surprised if someone paid a 4th for him, it's hardly an insult. A 2nd and B prospect is too high, you might as well keep him. If you're trying to get rid of him to make room for Wolf, you're already trading from the hypothetical low ground.

To top it all off, Tampa already has Johansson sitting at 3rd in the league in GSAx (min 2 games) and Vasilevskiy coming back at some point before the playoffs. I don't think they even want a goalie right now.

Analytics numbers don't tell the whole story especially not for goalies. Raanta and Talbot aren't being shopped either especially not Talbot who is still pretty good.

Nobody said it'd take a 2nd AND a B prospect to get Vlader. I said it would take a 2nd, a B prospect or a decent depth skater to get him. That's one of three possibilities NOT a 2nd + a B prospect / depth skater. Of course assets of equivalent value would work too as long as it doesn't include another NHL goalie though a prospect goalie would be useful to replace Wolf on the Wranglers.

We're in no rush to move Vladar we have all year to do it we certainly won't be considering lowball offers for him 9 games into the season. Besides if we do go for a rebuilding Marky will probably be willing to waive his NMC and someone might actually be willing to take him. In that case we'd want to keep Vladar.

I completely botched reading that, my bad. That said, I still think even a 2nd or B-prospect is high. Jonathan quick went half-retained as a UFA at a similar cap hit for Hutchinson and a 7th. His GSAx/60 was -.462, where Vladar's was -.340 last season, and is -2.003 this season (in a very small sample size). DeSmith is cheaper and better (currently rocking a +.399 GSAx/60, and was a +.084 last season), a UFA after this season, and he returned a cap dump and a 3rd when he was traded to Vancouver. I think a 4th is a pretty decent return for Vladar right now.

Given the state of the market, there should definitely be no rush to move him. It's likely both he and Markstrom are better than the numbers suggest, and it's a systematic issue (which can get fixed as changes are made).
