Lol true, we can beat up on weak teams but we still need 1 or 2 high end forwards for the next couple seasons

C or wings? Thinking Hertl for Myers Garland and 2 1sts! lol

I’m embracing the suck for this year and next to build a deep strong young core!

You can add a 2nd if not first round pick to Garland if you think the Hawks want him and will be sending a 3rd for him. If the Hawks take Garland, it will be as at the very best a slightly negative value and almost certainly not a positive one where you get even a 3rd back. Hawks are not trying to be competitve this season (look at their roster), have an overabundance of forwards as is, are not investing 5 million for 3 years they are likely to not be competing for almost all of, adding a diminutive wing when they already have Bedard, Reichel, Nazar, Moore penciled into the top 6/9 over the last couple of year of Gralnads deal. I am not suggesting Garland should not be worth a 3rd to someone (if they had cap space), he simply is not to the Hawks with where they are at in rebuilding.

Fair! I think Hertls value has fallen a ton, I think teams that are more “win now” than the Canucks would have more interest in him than Vancouver would.

What would the Canucks need to add/adjust?

Sorry should’ve noted that the garland deal was for cap sake, not really what I was trying to discuss here

Don’t think there’s one that makes sense with the Canucks

Hawks decline. They won't be contending for a playoff spot during those remaining seasons on Garland's deal. So spending a pick to get him is counterproductive.

Hert is 29 not 35! You guys look like your window is starting to open up and 3-5 year window would fit with Hertl! And given legit team to play with I would expect 30+ goals 65+ points. For 3 mil over garland for the next 3 years seems like a good deal!

But I’m not pushing just thinking out loud.
