Preds say no. No way they take Campbell. They have a #1 starting goalie ready and waiting to take over sitting in the AHL right now. I think there could be a trade to get Saros out of Nashville, but Campbell wont be part of it.

No one will want to trade for Campbell and I’d rather keep the picks. It isn’t hard to just buyout Campbell.

All the assets going to Nash would cover the taking of Campbell. You would have to add multiple 1sts to then get Saros.

I’d actually be a little shocked if Campbell gets moved during the season. If it happens people will be shocked that it’s only going to cost half of that to move him then what gets posted around here. Multiple firsts haha let’s at least try to be realistic. Very likely he’s getting bought out in the summer by whatever team and with the cap going up and his buyout won’t be a hindering issue. The only reason it’s being blown up right now is the oilers limited cap space to bring in a solution. If pickard who has nhl experience and solid AHL numbers can just help stabilize a .900 save percentage which isn’t a high bar it will help the team tremendously snap out of this funk which will also help skinner get back on track. Don’t blow years of assets solving a problem that could be fixed within a week internally. Holland patients has proven fans wrong multiple times since he arrived think we should begin to trust his process that has lead to multiple playoff rounds and multiple 50 win seasons.

Didn't the Nashville GM say he's not moving Saros. Also why would they trade their goalie duo for a worse goalie duo. I don't see why Nashville considers this trade

happy^Thishappy^ Who's going to take Campbell's contract without multiple 1sts and top end prospects dealt alongside him? No one. So he's a buyout candidate in the summer but that doesn't really help the Oilers in that now even with Campbel demoted they're going to need a goalie making ~$1M who can be their starter. Good luck with that.

Umm didn’t la move a very comparable situation last year? Did it cost them multiple firsts?

He didn't say that exactly, he said he has no reason to move Saros at this point in time. The way that most have interpreted that is that Trotz is willing to move Saros, but he isn't going to move Saros unless the deal is exactly what he wants.

The way I see it is that he is fine hanging onto Saros for now considering he is signed through next year as well and is more than happy rolling a 1A-1B situation similar to Boston with Saros/Askarov. However, if someone calls asking at the deadline and offer Trotz a deal he can't say no to he will move Saros.

Quick was on an expiring contract; he didn't have 4 years left.

Cal peterson or something like that was involved in a three way trade with Philly and Columbus.

Ah, yeah. The trade where the Kings got $3m in cap space and shipped out Peterson (who only had 2 years left on his contract), a 1st, a 2nd, a starting D and another prospect.
