DISCLAIMER: these trades do not fit the Red Wings rebuild timeline. But could this speed it up?

And yes, I know neither will happen.

Crazy underpays for both players. Oilers would get far better offers than a 1st and spare parts, and Nashville would get far better offers than a 2nd rounder and a downgrade in net.

You gotta think Draisaitl starts with Mo Seider - you don't trade a franchise player for only depth

I agree the value is low but 1) I’m not sure how much leverage Nashville has with teams knowing Askarov is coming and Saros only a 1 year least after this season. 2) Goalies don’t usually net great returns. Personally, I rank Johansson as Detroit’s 2nd best D prospect(behind Edvinsson).

Value is probably low, though a 1st is a good start. Oilers need depth in a bad way and this would give them 2/3 of a really good middle 6 line and a reliable D-man, a position they desperately need. They likely get better offers but this makes the Oilers a tougher team to play against.
