Created by: Rajvinder
Team: 2023-24 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 11, 2023
Published: Nov. 11, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Calgary fans will hate it. But it's reality, get over it.
Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Wolf, Dustin
  2. Zadorov, Nikita
Additional Details:
Toronto gets another goalie option and Zadorov who has requested a trade.

Flames fans will hate Wolf here but truth is Vladar and Markstrom have numerous years left. Soon he'll be requesting a trade. Better to move now when he has value.

  2. Klingberg, John
  3. Petruzzelli, Keith
  4. 2024 1st round pick (TOR)
  5. 2024 3rd round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
Klingberg works for cap and can actually help the Flames PP which has been horrible.

Holmberg is a long-term bottom 6 guy for the Flames behind their top 6 F prospects.

I am a leaf's fan and there's no way Calgary is trading Wolf, he is the top goalie in the AHL and probably the best goalie prospect other then maybe Devon Levi. If anything I can see them moving Vladar so Wolf can be brought up to the NHL.

I don't know ask Conroy I am not their GM, I am just saying I don't see any team giving up on a young goalie prospect who is that good to keep two guys that are older.

They haven't done it because they supposedly want to get the right return for Vladar. I think they should just trade him for anything tbh. But for some reason this guy thinks they are holding onto Vladar so they can move Wolf or some **** idk. Real big brain genius we got here.

Is there a right return for Vladar? Posting some of the worst numbers with one of the more expensive contracts as a back up. I think if they could have moved him, they would have. I agree with the rest of your post though lol

Supposedly they had small offers around the draft and they probably should have moved him then. But they held on and here we are. I don’t really think there is a “right return for Vladar” as long as you aren’t paying to move him.

I was floating around a Vladar and Dube for FC trade in my brain. A team takes a chance on both to eat their cap. I'm curious though, if Zadorov going to be the first domino of UFAs that want to move on? Considering both Hanifin and Lindholm have both stated at a time that they weren't interested in an extension. I know both have said otherwise since but that could mean "I'll stay but you have to pay me more than I'm worth".

It depends on how the team does I think but even they do good which they probably won’t they’ll still have overpay to keep these guys. Hanifin I don’t think would be too far off from fair value maybe like 1 mil max and in interviews at least sounded like he didn’t just wanna be here for money (prior to the team’s losing skid) Lindholm on the other hand would likely be an insane overpay to keep him and he definitely sounds like he is only here for money. Last I heard they were offering 9 mil x 8 and he still wanted more. I would so much rather trade Lindholm at 50% (2.425 mil) for an absolute haul at the deadline than extend him. Idk Zadorov wanting out will instantly open the flood gates but it’s certainly a start.

Idk if they would trade Vladar and Dube for FC they would probably at least want something back but it certainly wouldn’t be much.

Vancouver LOVES that trade! We have all these fast defensemen who keep moving the puck too quickly, Brodie will slow that down and teach our young guys how to choke in the playoffs. And it would be nice to get rid of those two 2nd rounders for the priviledge of getting older and slower as well.

Orrrr CGY is waiting for a somewhat fair trade for Vladar and is waiting to pull the trigger? Which is dumb because he isn't looking to good, and his value is dwindling

Canucks decline. Can’t afford Brodie and even if we could I wouldn’t give up that much for him.
