Seems like the right thing to do. At least from the GM standpoint and then I guess that new GM should be able to implement the coaching changes desired, but I wouldn't do it all at once. 10+ years as the GM for the Blue Jackets. He's awful at player development. Hired torts and had his own players begging to leave, then hired Babs so some terrible reason. It past time.

This is a mess, a few things:

1.) Bean does not get that much money lol, if he is resigned its a prove it deal for 1 year at 2mil. I HIGHLY doubt he is resigned with all the good prospects we have coming up that can play the LD spot (Mateychuk, Svozil, Blanks, Etc.)

2.) Elvis and Gudbranson are probs the only 2 bright spots this season... they are both playing up to their contracts right now, they are not getting bought out.

Bean definitely should not get a new contract.

Elvis and gudbranson have been two of the best players on the jackets this year. Why in the world would they be bought out?

They're obviously getting bought out so we can overpay for Lindholm's late 30s.

Here's my two cents, on just the moves here:

Bean, Jake -> not re-signed, just move him at the deadline for a 3rd or 4th and keep the roster spot.

Blankenburg, Nick -> 2 x $900,000 that's about right

Chinakhov, Yegor -> 2 x $2,00,000 is probably more likely, basically a bridge

Greaves, Jet -> 2 x $900,000 no issues here

Johnson, Kent -> 1 x $3,000,000 I don't think he signs more than a year or two unless he comes back to the NHL this year and lights it up. Prove-it bridge, sign him big next offseason

Marchenko, Kirill -> 8 x $6,000,000 I'd love this, but it's probably more like 4 x $5,000,000

Sillinger, Cole -> 2 x $2,000,000 that's about right, too

Lindholm, Elias -> If he's available, I wouldn't want to offer over $8M, so 7 x $8,000,000 as a take-it-or-leave-it.

Montembeault, Samuel -> If he's not extended by MTL within the month, I'd be shocked.
