Description
Direction: Landeskog back. But this team is in cap hell. Gotta move on from Johansen and Manson at least. The three I moved have to be moved tho idk how else they fit everyone. I also dont know how they fit everyone the year after. But yea these are the moves I think theyll need to make, realy just focusing on finding centers and three defenseman. Annunen in line to be backup and hes cheap which is good

Lmao I don’t think Matt Duchene is coming back to Colorado.

I hate the bottom half of that defense. Three old dudes that look cooked (although I know OEL has started hot this year)

I like Girard but don't think Caps have room for him. They are stacked on the left side.

COL isn’t taking less in a trade for Girard than they got for Newhook. RyJo has been fine as the 2C and Duchene isn’t coming back to COL. If everybody is healthy for the start of next year the top 9 is set:

I’d take Behrens and Jones and keep Manson over that bottom 3. And it is always telling who watches and doesn’t watch the Avs that don’t realize how good Colton Wood and LOC have been on the 3rd line

Girard plays both sides. He’s also a better option than most of the guys Washington has on that side.

Regardless, this is a bad trade for Colorado imo

I’d prefer to move on from Manson and keep Girard, who has looked solid this year.

It’s clear the coaching staff has a hierarchy and Manson is on the outside looking in. Hated that contract from day 1

For a start the salary cap going up might have some effect. Not sure how the Avs have drafted Ryder Rtchie without a first round pick to draft him with in next year's draft either.

Oh I agree, but I think moving Girard is far easier returns and returns real value, though I think somewhere in the back rooms they might be discussing how big a package they could get for Byram.
