If you want a price match on Zegras, how much do you want for Caufield if he was a center?

He would be if he was traded to Montreal right now. My point is, that both teams are unwilling to move away from slam dunk young assets. So if Caufield isn't available, why would Zegras (who was extended this season) be? These are teams on the cusp of being playoff contenders, you don't change that, you keep developing what you have.

If Montreal paid this much for a guy who can play C, he's taking Dvoraks role at center to have an all offense line in my opinion, but you'd know better. Either way, if Caufield isn't on sale, I don't imagine Zegras is.

Slaf vs Zegras 1 for 1 is enough for MTL to decline, and one of them has 3 more points than the other, can u guess which one?

Slaf is lowkey better right now and has more potential, MTL decline. And for the ones saying “he had 60 pts last year”, 2 things:
1. 60-70 isn’t very good when trading a guy with the potential of an elite 1st liner
2. A player should never be dropping so low from one season to the next, without questioning major red flags

I’m not a fan of either team, but see value in both players and don’t understand why either franchise would move them. This is an unbiased opinion of why Zegras going anywhere doesn’t make sense right now.

Also it’s hard to take over 500+ face offs as a winger.

Any decent winger with a couple sessions of face-offs can get to around 40%, not cause your taking face-offs that you are good at it, let alone be a good center.

This is a massive overpay.

MTLs 2024 pick alone is likely a top 3-5 pick and that should get Zegras by it's self.

Look, if someone is bad at their role it doesn’t mean they haven’t primarily played their professional career in that position. He will likely move to the wing, but y’all are missing the point of the comparison. The Ducks have got two solid seasons of production out of Zegras playing as a center. moving him to the wing will take time but he will thrive there. The point I’m painfully trying to make is if that both teams are unwilling to move on from certain players, the closest comparison is Zegras to Canfield as both project as top-line players.

Why does everyone who doesn’t watch Zegras play say all the dumb things about him? He’s already scored 60+ TWICE in his career and you’ve claimed he’s a 60-70 point player but Slaf is top line potential. That makes zero sense. Slaf has never been better than Zegras and still isn’t this season.
