Campbell and Primeau would probably be the worst tandem in the NHL... Habs more than likely just trading one of Montembeault or Allen, not both.

Laine is nowhere near Dubois. Laine has a bad contract and really stinks 5v5. I only want him for his finishing and the maybe he becomes elite again. If 2 good young players, a 2nd and a 3rd is not enough, then the Jackets are gonna lose him for nothing in 3 years

Two years of Allen at $1.9m is probably worth a 2nd. Seems fair to me.

Oh back to the tank talk, yippee. Habs aren’t rolling with Primeau and Campbell. We’re not at the fighting for a playoff spot yet but we’re also past the tanking phase. Team has to progress or players and fans will just tune out.

I'd pay a 3rd tops. Just don't see the comps there to justify a 2nd for a veteran 1B

Team has 1 potential elite forward. you need at least 3 to compete. Unless you feel like being mediocre for 15 years again

Two years retention. Not saying it would be my first choice, but can’t argue it’s outside the norm.

Adin Hill 1 year full season rental at 2 mill cost a 4th.
Desmith 1 year full season rental at 2 mill cost a 3rd and MTL took back a cap dump.

This 1 year of Allen at 2 mill is something I'd pay a late 3rd/early 4th for. Not sure getting 34 year old allen for another year adds that kind of value

Drop it to a 3rd and we throw in a propsect. Im not trading 2nd for Allen. I rather go get Gibson if we just wanna throw away a 2nd. Stolarz,Riemer,Lyon would all be cheaper. Just need to see Stolarz play more than 4gms.

Allen is not exciting…I’d be overwhelmed with indifference if we acquired him.

Hill wasn’t proven at his trade. DeSmith had 1-year and less of track record. Again, none are exciting…nor guaranteed to be better than what we’ve got. But the price, 2nd for Allen with 50% retained seems okay to me.
