The Kessel signing I could see happening but the Hawks are a bottom 5 team so why would they ever consider trading draft capital for a pending UFA. That makes absolutely zero sense.

Don't know yet. They are still being pretty tight lipped. I just hope everything is alright with him and his family. Not that I have any evidence that something happened, but it was just a possibility that I thought of for why that all happened so abruptly.

Oh ok. The other day, Luke Richardson, the head coach, said it was an organizational decision and that was all the details they gave. But that is good to know it isn't something more personal. Some words must have been exchanged off the ice or something like that, though. Because he has played well beyond expectations this season for CHI. That or he missed a practice for some reason that they didn't like, and so they are making an example of him.

Just saw this from Mark Lazerus, a Hawks beat writer, about KD's comments: "Kyle Davidson said he's basically still in the dark about what's going on. and he has no update on Corey Perry. Says he'll be away from the team for the foreseeable future." To me, that sounds like something personal, and they are just trying to be tight lipped or they don't know anything and are just being cooperative.

Edit: After reading more thoughts from CHI beat writers on KD's comments and tone, it sounds more like he did or said something that had them essentially tell him not to bother coming back. But, that could just be supposition from those writers.
