Deadline Sellers

Created by: TMLBRIAN

Initial Creation Date: Nov. 25, 2023

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
In the crazy rare scenario where the Leafs become sellers. They could retool hard with UFA's and be back to being competitive next year.

Brodie is a perfect fit with Vancouver by the way.

This is a crazy unlikely scenario. I was just bored and having fun. Tried to make fair and realistic trades. I assume an extension with Nylander would need to be expect for Carolina to give all that.

Am I nuts for this?

There’s a bunch of similar-build defencemen that Vancouver would rather use the picks on than Brodie

That’s a great price for Brodie and Brodie is basically tanev tanev has been top 3 defender for the last 3 years but never first and Brodie has been 2/3 last years but was first last year

If he does that, it would be with Calgary.

COL doesn’t trade 1st for rentals and isn’t adding him because 1 he doesn’t play center 2 his name has serious baggage along with his bench antics a couple of years ago and 3 he isn’t really worth it because with a healthy line up where is he playing the 3rd line?

Canes aren’t moving Nikishin. He was an untouchable for 9 years worth of Meier, a quarter of a season of Nylander isn’t changing their stance.

Brodie is 33 and a pending UFA. If the Canucks were to trade a 2nd and a 3rd for a defencemen it'll be for a RHD or a young gun who fits with the core, not someone who's retiring when we contend
