He is young, near a PPG on a garbage offensively team and has been great defensively too. He is also cost controlled. Just so hard to find RD like that, he is arguably a top 6 RD right now.

Dobson might get you more but Barzal isn't. He's got 7 years left at 9 million which he has not been worth. If a team is willing to take that contract no retention the isles won't get elite value for him.

Dobson will definitely get more. A late 1st and a mid prospect isn’t getting you Dobson. It starts with two 1sts and a top prospect, just like the Seth jones deal
