As gross as it is to say, Anderson as 3 mil is about fair. He could probably get a 2nd or 3rd alone for him with this retention

Why?

We lose a 2nd, 3.75 mill in cap space for some years.

We get rid of a bad contract that doesnt hurt us right now because we arent competing.

We get a washed ''inforcer'' who isnt NHL caliber anymore and doesnt fight.

Anderson just ripped a guy limb from limb last night, Reaves is yet to do that as a Leaf. For those reasons, Montreal rejects.
