Not wasting a retention slot for another team when Detroit has plenty of their own to consider using it for (Perron/Ghost/etc.).

that's a very flawed way of looking at it but yes, he could do that. There's far more that goes into a trade decision than just which team is better. He's a veteran player with a family and might not want to move in the middle of the year, or could play it like Kane where he is able to essentially pick where he wants to be traded.

Allen just been getting worse and tanking his value atm
Evans is good but not worth no more then a 2nd

Mtl is alr tied up with anderson and gallagher for 4 yrs at 12 mil whynt commit 4 years by adding campbell

This allows mtl to get better players they got mid players like roy mesar kidney heineman beck and farrell and i cant name any other player with even noticeable potential
So if we hard tank sell everyone not in our future maybe get a top center winger defender and goalie in the next 4 yrs
Suzuki and caufeild arent elite yet and 4 year brings them into there prime top playing year

Guhle is mtls best d and every other d in there system isnt nhl ready or top tier of there skill 4 years allows hutson rienbacher mallioux barron harris xhejak struble norlinder engstrom that one rhd d dude who’s apparently good but idk his name

Mtl now has holloway guhle reinbacher hutson newhook suzuki caufield slafkovsky
And 5 first in the next 3 yrs
Matheson Monahan
Maybe even savard retained and montebeault at his contract and if he continues to get better so mtl can have 5-7 not including future signings trades and trade ups

Lemme know what you think if its smart worth it or just keep regressing allen and random evans

Youd be better off sending the 2024 or 2025 1st to MTL and the 2026 1st to WSH. I could see Pacthes waiving his NMC for the OIlers. And Tanev wont cost a 1st, Zadorov went for scraps

I’m going to assume you meant someone will retain, which I agree.

I assume Ras could be traded, but not for that return.
