Description
In this scenario mtl adds lots of picks and possible forward talents

In the lineup i ranked each player by the potential as i see and put them in that order every player thats movable and not part of the team going forward is traded
Colorado trade is a reach as girard isnt needed but can be useful
Other contracts are players being used during the rebuild and unmovable contracts

Lemme know if any trades are bad perfect or good
Yes ik this is unrealistic but woukd u stand by these values and trades
Imnt very certain on bourques hughes and lysells values but keep in mind most these trades might be over valued but for cup contenders gotta do whats best now not then

Where in the world would you think Matheson fits in the Kings line up? The Kings top 4 are all better than Matheson which at best puts him on the third pairing with Spence and that would be a horrible pairing. Not to mention at almost 5m per year on the third pairing would be a waste of cap space. This trade put the Kings in a horrible position now and in the future. Kings pass

Haha on what planet is Kovacevic worth that? If we’re trading a first it’s for someone with more than 7 career goals at 26

Most of these are fair trades but bad destinations. And the Girard trade is straight up bad for Montreal

Oilers say no quite easily. Campbells contract is an easy buy out candidate, not as big of a cap issue as you think. Buy him out and you go shop for a 3M goalie that’s likely better than Allen anyways. Then Oilers are still in exact same cap situation, except instead of Campbell you have a 3M goalie that you sign.

I did. And I would not stand by the value of any of them past the first one.

1- rather have Lysell career than Monahan rental

2 - Monahan does not crack our center lineup, he’d play wing, plenty of better options for that, including calling up Lysell

3 - Monahan has little value other than PP this year, his 5x5 production is terrible.

4- would not pay much more than 3rd/Merkulov, if that

5- not interested in him at all

6 - see #1

The Kings are second in goals scored per game and second in goals against per game in the league. Cam Talbot might just be nominated for the Vezina this year and that is solely attributed to the defense of the Kings. I'd say there there absolutely nothing wrong with the way the Kings are built right now. Matheson wouldn't help the Kings in anyway shape or form.

Depending on the situation I'd agree with you. But you have consider everything the picture has to offer. Matheson is playing an average of 25 mins per night and has 23 points where Spence is playing 15 mins a night and has 9 points. I'd argue that if Spence was playing 25 mins a night like Matheson is he would be right around the same point total as Matheson. If you look at their advanced stats Matheson is currently at 1.74 points per 60mins and Spence is 1.73 per 60mins so they are both producing at the same rate just one guy is playing a lot more than the other. So big game moments sure I'd take Matheson but a full regular at their current cap hits I'd take Spence 10/10 times.

Forget spence in general hes a rhd and great 3rd guy whos young and has good top 4 potential
Matheson has proved in the last 3 years to be molding into a elite top 4 dmen are u gonna tell me smo who has 52 pts in 74gms with mtl a bad dog**** mtl is better then englund and bjornfot who have a combined 2 goals in 220 games and under 30pts only difference is they have combined +8 and matheson has -10 but on la that can def change imagine 3yrs 4.8 50 pt mtl player on a power house team like la

I completely agree with you that Matheson is a top 4 defensemen on any NHL team however there is no room for him on the Kings in the top 4. Kings are currently sitting tied for 5th in the league in goals scored (the other 4 teams a head of them have all played 3 or more games and are only 6 goals away for each other) and 1st overall in goals against. So obviously the team is playing great defensively and very well offensively so there is no need or room for Matheson.

I'm not saying Spence is as good as Matheson I'm saying Matheson has been gifted the opportunity to play top pairing minuets which reflects in his stats and that if Spence got the same opportunity that the numbers would show in his stats as well.
