Before he was taken in the expansion draft he was playing with McAvoy and he wasn't bad, physicality is such a need for this bruins team with lucic gone forever.

Take out the 2nd in the Preds deal. Like them as targets.

Don’t see Minny trading Foligno

I think Trotz likes Lauzon and he's signed for a couple more years so I feel like a pick might have to be added, doesn't have to be a 2nd. I can't watch another playoff series with Grzelcyk playing top pairing minutes and getting bullied by every forchecking forward.

Agreed, i’d add lesser pick if needed or Lauko but not giving up 1st or 2nd for those two.

B’s need 1sts and 2nds for bigger fish or hold them.

Would need better prospects with the first for Foligno.

Probably right because of how much Guerin values him but he's not worth much more than that offer I would say.

Other targets besides Foligno who could fill the power forward/physicality role? Acciari isn't the fighter Foligno is, but would be an upgrade from Geekie/Steen on the 4th line.

Lauzon is a downgrade from Gryz.

Minny just re-signed Foligno, not trading him

That's the only thing of interest to NSH here.

I don't think they do. A 2nd is a low return for both Lauzon and Trenin. Plus, taking those two out of the lineup and replacing them with Geekie and Grezelcyk takes too much snarl out of NSH's lineup. We're going to see McCarron on the ice every night to compensate, if this trade happened.

Bruins lose both trades. Sure, add physicality but it's gotta be good players on good contracts and for a good return.

Lauzon has physicality, but lacks speed. The value of picking him up is he won’t cost a first or second round pick. Hes a good replacement for Forbort. If im paying those prices, I would see if Tanev is an available as a rental.

Gryz being on the top pair in playoffs has been one of the most underrated reasons the bruins have failed in the playoffs going all the way back to the finals against St. Louis he is a detriment to the roster in the playoffs. I do not care what any analytics or other BS about how good he is with McAvoy, anyone who has watched and rewatched previous bruins playoff runs should know how he gets bullied and completely breaks down when the games really matter. He should be moved for someone because he sure as hell should not be resigned.

I really like Tanev, his cost is going to be high. I don't think they give up the assets that a team like Toronto will.

He played three games against the Blues in that run and was most certainly not on the first pair, crazy to blame him for the Bruins scoring one goal in game 7 (which, fwiw, was scored by him).

I like Gryz and think he gets far too much **** from fans, but I agree they need an upgrade. Lauzon is far from that. Have you watched him since he left the Bruins? He's just not good. And not sure how you can bring up playoff series from 5 years ago and not mention how bad Lauzon was against the Islanders

Fans obsession over physical but bad players is crazy to me

How is it that a guy with a regular season career 123 +/- is a dash 19 in his playoff career. Gryz does not get nearly enough sh*t. Regular season hero, crumbles in the playoffs when it gets physical. They got bullied against Florida just like they did when they lost to a much worse team in the finals. Last year should have made that obvious that no matter what records you break playoff hockey might as well be a different sport.

The Bruins were a better team with Gryz in the lineup in the playoffs last year.

Regardless, putting Jeremy Lauzon in there instead doesn't make the team better. Would rather see Gryz occasionally get out-muscled than Lauzon cough up the puck for half the game.

Should go after Hanifin

I question whether Hanifin or Lindholm is the better option to pursue. I prefer Hanifin’s age and the concept of a top 4 of McAvoy, Hanifin, Lindholm, and Carlo is super intriguing (I assume Hanifin and Lindholm play on PP2, which frankly means you are probably overpaying for both’s offensive skill set).

That said, there is an appeal to brining in Elias as a center and moving Zacha back to the wing where there is less faceoff pressure

Like you, I don’t see a fringe 3rd liner like Lauzon making much of an impact.

In his case, it's the contract. He's signed from his age 33-37 seasons to a $4M deal, it's unlikely he plays at that level.

Grzelcyk wasn't on the top pair in 2019 and if anything, they missed his transition ability to generate more offense. It's not few more hits of Kevan Miller that would scare the blues or help the Bruins score more goals (not to include his replacement, Connor Clifton who is a physical player too).

Hopefully you realize the reason they lost to Florida was because of that god awful Forbort-Clifton pair that Monty decided to keep running out time and time again.
