A hopeful fan wanting a retool at the least

Description
what it might look like if Conny can shed assets and makes room for Wolf. I'm not dead set on the trades but if ownership will allow Conny to eat money he could get a huge haul of picks and bring some up some more kids that have proved them selves to give the big club a crack

Leafs accept but I’m not sure if flames will offer that

Flames are getting fleeced in that Arizona trade. Dube is worth more than a 5th. No chance Calgary retains on Mangiapane for more than a couple months

I think you can get more for Hanifin & Lindholm (retained). Leafs trade seems fair to me - maybe we add a prospect - but time will tell. Can’t see the Isles doing that.
But i agree - flames ownership, mgmt & fanbase should be reconciling themselves to retool (if not rebuild). Just doesn’t look like a competitive team as constructed but with lots of assets to move - potential to set yourselves up for the future, and hopefully won’t take too long

I'm not sure if Yotes would move Zucker but they would have to shed some salary in order to get both Lindholm and Hanifin even after Calgary eating some money. Zucker would more likely go to FA anyway so this would work for Calgary to bring up Shwindt, Ciona or Klapka the following season. Kylington is in the line in the hopes he returns. DeSimone or Osterle probably move on after this season so that makes room for Poirie or Kunetzov. Isles probably win that trade hands down but Calgary gets a decent D-man to fill in for Hanifin and tanev being gone and Isles get some much needed scoring depth.

I don't know about Fleeced But I do agree it probably be more than what I put down they would want a prospect or 2 on top. but those picks could turn out to be HOFer's picks are more expensive than we like to think. Unfortunately Dube hasn't played well in the last 2 seasons so it would be a hard sell for more imo

Hanifin is worth the 1st and at least one of the 2nds alone. You are basically giving away Lindholm for free here.

Lindholm is also not a good fit for Arizona. They are close to being competitive again but they aren't contenders yet. Lindholm would be a far better fit for a more established team like Winnipeg, Boston, or Minnesota

Isles pass on that trade, I think - the value isn't terrible but Mangiapane and Ruzicka are basically middle-6 forwards at this point, and the Isles already have plenty of those. I'd rather keep the 23 year old top-4 LHD at this point - Romanov might not be a superstar but he's beginning to show signs of being a very dependable hand on the blueline.

Those are all pretty bad for Calgary except the Tanev to Toronto trade which is actually pretty close.

Calgary would be interested in Romanov but not if the cost is Mangiapane + Ruzicka... Especially not with 50% retention on Mangiapane.

Assuming hanifin and lindholm are signed each to at least 5years (BTW CAL dont need to retain, AZ has cap space galore) AZ jumps on that. Cant see CAL not wanting some near NHL prospects though, I'd add soderstrom, raty, jenik, and/or kolyachek (at least 3 of them)
