Have you ever looked at what goaltenders have gone for in the past? Like ever went and taken a quick Look?
Yup. Well aware.
The last significant goalie traded was Kuemper. Got a 1st/Timmins/ cond 3rd as rental with retention.
Last significant goalie Boston traded was Jones. Got a 1st and Kuraly as an RFE.
You think Boston should take less than this for Ullmark? He’s better.
Boston has no need or desire to trade him in season. If somebody wants him, they will have to give Boston a reason to move him. Paying far more than market value. In the offseason, back to market value. 1st and B prospect. 🤷🏻♂️
BTW A few others.
Varalmov RFA rights - 1st
Tomas Vokoun - 1st/2nd/cond 2nd
One of the main reasons for the goalie trade value narrative is that it’s not often high end goalies are moved. Most goalie trades involve low end starters, backups, spare parts, expiring contracts, cap dumps.
