This is an interesting idea but idk how much the Canes would want to move on from Necas without bringing in another proven top 6 guy considering the top 6 is having trouble scoring as it is rn.

fair enough. Bruins also can't really afford to lose a top 6 scorer right now and need to be adding one. Maybe expand it to a 3 teamer, re-route Lysell and maybe some picks to a third team for someone else?

How much do you think Necas gets on his next deal? I've seen the prevailing logic from Canes fans is that Jarvis is the bigger priority and negotiations probably starts around $6.5M for his next deal, but haven't seen much on Necas.

Canes have a little over $30M in cap space but a lot of guys to re-sign and roster spots to fill. Do they move one of their young guys to maximize flexibility?

I really don't think the Bruins trade Ullmark midseason. Would be a massive culture shift for the team (and more importantly Swayman) that is having a lot of success now

If they do, I like this trade a lot. Fits what the Bruins need very well, would think they re-sign Skjei as well

Agreed, I think it's unlikely we move Ullmark too, but end of the day we can't keep the tandem together forever. So personally if the right deal comes along I'd jump at it, though I totally get the argument against that.

And yeah, Skjei would be extended to round out our top 4 while Lohrei breaks in on the third pair for his first couple season full time in the NHL.

I don’t see a reason to include Lysell in this package. Skjei is a pending FA and Necas is an interesting forward. He seems to be an overvalue add here

There’s no way you want to take out an asset on bostons side lmao.

Skjei>Ullmark+Gryz alone

Let alone a 70 point winger at 3 mill with RFA control after that

That’s fair on Necas. I admitted in another thread I viewed Necas not based on last year, but his previous years. Lots of young players are hyped, but don’t live up to expectations. He has.

With regards to Skjei, I think it’s about a straight swap personally, Both are very good players at their positions. Ullmark has one more year at around the same money. I’d probably consider Skjei and Raanta for Ullmark and Grz. Maybe ask for a swap of 2nds in 24 and 26.
