  1. Granlund, Mikael ($2,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Granlunds been on an absolute HEATER.
At 50% if not only his pace continues, but just how he looks, he would easily be the Sharks most attractive TDL piece at 2.5m. Using a placeholder team, receives over a first (using a first just to keep it simple since we’ll have more clarity by TDL who’s truly shopping, and who’s just browsing).

    2023/2024 NHL TRADE DEADLINE

I think Kunin and EDM are a great fit, and easily can replace the absolute blemish that CBrown has been. Kunin expires an RFA, EDM pays a third party 50% to retain on Kunin.

Kunin comes at 50%; a 2nd + asset for Kunin
    Brown is buried
A 5th-ish is paid to the third party

Cant afford to jump the gun on a Ufa -> to a bad deal. We can wait.

Not saying these guys are guaranteed to be or ARE, but you never know what you have till you give them patience and investment.

Shakir (let him cook in the AHL for 1-2 more)
Furlong (let’s see how he plays this WJC, there’s been some really high on him for a while)
      Havelids (project but high upside)
      Cagoni (project but elite upside)
Larqoue (I like a lot but another project)

But I get you. And who knows maybe we also get to draft Zayne Parekh or one of the other highly touted d’s.

We didn’t believe we’d get Bedard. I’m going to believe we get Celebrini.

So we get to dump Brown and we get Kunin's RFA rights to re-sign him for that 3C role (while having him for the playoffs)

      I love it

Kunin isn't worth a 2nd (let alone a 2nd+)- especially not when it's without retention from SJ. He's a 3rd/4th line rental W that you'd be lucky to get a 3rd for at the rate he's going. And the only reason I think he has a chance to return even a 3rd is because he's physical and GMs over-index for that at the deadline.

EDIT: The more I think about it, the more foolish it seems. Kunin for a 2nd+(asset) and then an additional asset to another team to get retention. After all is said and done, you'd be looking at having paid a 2nd and the equivalent of two 5ths for Kunin, a physical player without an established history of either scoring or competent defense.

Kunin doesn’t help us. Not paying a 2nd for him, then paying extra for 50% retention.
