Description
I saw that the oilers were using Broberg as trade bait.
I saw that the oilers were in need of a Goalie.
I saw from a NYR fan that they were looking for LHD.
I saw that habs are looking to move Allen (G).
I know that the habs have a surplus at LHD.

So if all these assumptions are correct: I propose a flip where:

OILERS pay Broberg and a 2nd round pick and end-up with Allen;

NYR give up on Kakko and get one of Broberg/Harris and Ylonen (which TBH is getting better results than Kakko at this point by playing on the 4th).

Habs flip Broberg and Ylonen for another MSL project in Kakko.

AVS TRADE:

Saw it in another post... and I like the idea - I like Johansen's size and potential for a rebound. Avs get a decent 3C that is reliable - won't hurt you, but won't do any miracle.

I think the trade is unlikely on MTL's end as Dvorak seems to be best friends with Cole Caufield and Suzuki.

Nothing of interest in that ranger trade and Kakko wouldn’t accept that contract lol

Rangers aren’t looking for LHD. They can extend Gus or play Jones

Broberg has very little value and Ylönen is just an older, worse version of Kakko. Easy decline for the Rangers, no reason to sell low on Kakko.

Think I'd rather keep RyJo and try to dump him elsewhere than do that if I were GMCM.

If you say so - NYR fans have diverging views on this I guess.

I'm not that high on Kakko TBH - I see him becoming Poolparty 2.0 very soon.

Saw some Avs fans were liking this deal - I guess habs don't even have to trade back Dvo - they have the cap space to eat the full cap.

Then why trade for him lmao

Poolparty was literally playing with Mcdavid/Drai and couldn’t do anything lol. Kakko put up 40 points in a majority sheltered 3rd line role with above average defense

Ylonen (24 yo) = 0.34 ppg playing on and off on the 4th line with 11 min avr TOI
Kakko (22 yo) = 0.38 ppg playing on 3rd to 2nd lines with 14:30 avr TOI

If you don't need or want to trade him - I get it. No one has got a gun to Drury's head ahaha.

I just disagree on "worse version of Kakko"

I think I’m that some fan.

I truly don’t know the value gap between the two, but it’s more creative than the standard Monahan to the Avs trade. Both Johansen and Dvorak are polarizing players so I think you’d get a wide range of responses

MSL effect basically - purely banking on that - and the fact that he is good defensively - which I do value.

but on a contending team like NYR... I don't see him reaching his potential. MTL can give him more runway.

Yes.

Like I said in a previous comment - Dvorak doesn't have to go to COL, but eating RyJo's cap is not an issue for MTL.

Contenders need cheap young defense forwards as well, who also have offensive upside. Not every forward is gonna come into the league and light it up

Rangers team defense analytics have plummeted since chytil and Kakko got hurt

Fair enough. Even if Kakko becomes a Lars Eller - it's still very useful to have on your team.

I mean in itself it's not bad, not great, does nothing for the Avs though is my feeling. Would make more sense if the Habs ate the cap for a pick for both teams.

Or mark stone lite to be super hopeful. It’s about giving him the chance to succeed. Everyone craps on Kakko for his bad start this year, but Kreider and Mika were equally brutal 5v5

I’m not just looking at their counting stats, Kakko is an objectively good defensive PK forward with solid possession metrics who is best fit for the middle-six. Ylonen is a fringe third liner who is awful on the penalty kill and doesn’t have much of an impact on either side of the ice.

COL trade is new different and creative, I kinda like it, at the very least it offers both teams with a fresh look.

I mean that’s me being extremely optimistic. But I’ll take 40 points and shutdown forward if he can turn into that

He has no deployment... He was doing great in the AHL both defensively and offensively.

In the show, he is paired with to fringe AHLer... Pezzetta and Stephen, it's hard to stand out lol. Guy is playing 8min a game watching Anderson do f*ckall for 29 games.

Horribly unrealistic expectation of a return for Jake Allen. Lower your expectations or you will surely be disappointed.
