Stamkos would get a lot in a trade like this. I don't think Vancouver should be the one to spend that much on a rental but it would be fun if they did. Value seems fair though!

Stamkos would be a significant upgrade on Petey’s wing from a guy like Lafferty or Kuzy. He’d also make the powerplay ridiculous with him on the left and Petey on the right. Something like:

Miller
Stamkos Boeser Pettersson
Hughes

Definitely a big price for a very short sighted deal but I think the team would have a serious shot if they made this deal.

I personally don't believe Vancouver should be All In. They need to keep building up their prospect pool or trade for young, cost controlled assets.

But my brain is still slow and struggling to understand how they are right near the tops of the league right now. I had Vancouver as a very mediocre bubble team going into the season. Doing what they are doing, makes little sense to me. So my belief in them is still not where it probably should be.

I think Tampa can keep Stamkos.
Besides Tampa have better wingers than Kuzmenko.

Just can't see Stamkos waiving. There's nothing in it for him, except the risk of getting injured. Gotta believe he just plays out his contract and then sees what the summer brings as a UFA...maybe even coming back to Tampa

He's not has as recently as just before the start of this season publicly guaranteed to be here until his contract expires if not beyond.

Well, all players say they publicly whether it's true or not. But in Stamkos case, I believe it's true. There is nothing in it for Captain Stamkos to abandon his team or his Tampa home mid season.

There's interview speak and there's resolve in speech. It isn't always what is said verbatim the manner in which it's said mean everything and this was shortly after the "disappointed" comment. He guaranteed it

Canucks are better than most thought but I can’t help but feel they’ll fall back to middle of pack by season end. They have benefitted from puck luck (scoring above expected), great goaltending & playing in the worst division. They were also fortunate to catch some teams during their worst period (Oilers & Sharks) . They still have 5 games to come vs Vegas & LA - the best teams in the Pacific - let’s see how they fare against the best of their own division.

I seriously doubt Stamkos would waive for Vancouver.

And that offer doesn't even come close to getting him. Other teams would easily beat that.
