No, myers is a massive massive massive downgrade on liljegren and it doesnt matter how cheap he is. And a late 1st means very little when you're bringing in a liability like myers and trying to compete

If you remove Vancouver’s first round 2025 pick then Canucks accept this trade.

What are you talking about?

Myers has been playing bigger minutes than Liljegren and Myers has been playing his best hockey since coming to Vancouver. Liljegren would be a downgrade to Myers in all ways except cap hit. That's not even mentioning Liljegren's injury problems, this is his 3rd NHL season and he still won't play more than 70 games.

IMO Vancouver is getting shafted here. If The Nucks are getting rid of Myers its to clear out some cap spaces which retaining 3m plus taking on Liligrens 1.4m only creates 1.6m in cap space for them which IMO isnt would two 5th round picks for a team who is currently sits in second place in the entire league.

Read the trade tho VAN only retains 2M. You could even go as far as having VAN retain 1M and then pay another team to retain 2.5

This is Liljegren's 3rd season in a row where he won't play more than 70 games. He's been on the team for two full NHL seasons already and hasn't played more than 80% of the games. That's an injury issue.

It's funny nobody here notices Myers is actually playing pretty damn well this season. And also typical.

And got benched in the playoffs, which was not an injury issue.

In the past four years, Myers has been used as a #2 because the Canucks had trash defense. With the acquisition of Hronek, Myers is finally able to be a #3/4 which is more his level. Myers playing 19 mins/ATOI vs. 23 mins/ATOI is a world of difference.

Keefe hadn't even trusted Liljeren to be the #4 over Klingberg until Klingberg was injured. You can't tell me Myers isn't better than Klingberg.

Myers is also playing with Cole/Zadorov instead of OEL, which has made a world of a difference. Those guys are able to cover for his defensive lapses much better as they're physical, defence-first d-men. OEL is an offensive guy, and pairing him with Myers held both back and OEL had to play a more defence first role, while Myers didn't have the kind of defence first partner that he needs.

And you WOULD need to imagine it, because you don;t ever see it with your own eyes. That's kinda the whole point people are making here. All the time. Sheesh.
