They would have to add an extra day (likely the December 25th - so we would have got hockey today). The top 8 are all pretty good, and even Norway and Latvia are not terrible.
Still keep 8 teams in playoffs.

Not the best night from them but considering the 3 goals allowed its not a surprise as one was PP, one was 6 on 5 and I guess Matthews and Marner were out for the backbreaker.

Rielly though man Rielly-Brodie has been becoming a problem and not in a good way. Might be because they overwhelmed due to the fragileness of the Dcore or something but man not great

I really don't understand the strategy of pulling the pulling with over three minutes left, when just behind by one goal.

People looked into it and basically showed that early pulls result in tying the game more often

Ok I know it’s not the end of the world losing after a 4 day break but we can’t keep losing to crappy teams. Its annoying and it could mean we have to play a better opponent in the playoffs.

TBH, I would have pulled at 3-4 mins if the Leafs actually had sustained pressure on a shift, like the final shift of Matthews, Marner, Knies... OTT was pend in and that's where I would have pulled to maximize value... Kept Knies and called Brodie to put on Nylander and JT

My biggest issue is how LAZY the Leafs were 30 out of the last 40 minutes... You can't win games like that all the time

I mean they do it occasionally but it seems to be built in this teams DNA

Rather lets play down to our opponents and pray. Leafs played 20mins of solid hockey yesterday and then through 40mins let their 2-0 lead slip away with a side of lady luck being a ****

Either way not good as they are now 1-5-2 vs. teams like this 12 points have been bleed so far.

Not blaming Jones for the game but man goal 3 was a backbreaker. First and second are attributed to sloppy plays and defense being a myth to this team sometimes.


Anyways these are their big losses this year notice a theme as I do and its not great lul

Leafs had sustained pressure towards the end just was to soon to pull him. And Brodie being out on a 6 on 5 **** no lul.


The 6 on 5 unit is Matthews, Marner, JT, Nylander, Jarnkrok, and Rielly no other Dman comes out for it. Occasionally Jarnkrok will switch with Domi or Bertuzzi but thats really it.

Jarnkrok should not be there IMO and instead Bertuzzi but thats just me as hes been way better as of late.


Brodie never comes out for that as hes got 0 offense to give these days hes all defense but even thats an issue now. If I were to swap Rielly with someone on 6 on 5 McCabe would be the guy or a combo of him and Liligren.

VGK are apparently interested in moving Martinez (ret 50%) and only ask for a 5th done (3rd pair LD)

And with Bear joining WSH Jensen or TVR could be on the move both nice choices

I know we are still a long way from next season, but I'd really love to see Eberle sign a deal with the Leafs

U could see him happen via TDL as part of a Larsson deal

Banging a drum that's never gonna be heard it feels like, but can we please give Robertson a real opportunity? Or at least stop writing him off until he gets one? People are so down on him all of a sudden as if he doesn't lead the Leafs LW's in P/60 at 5v5 and All Strengths. Like he just FINALLY got a sniff on PP2 last game and was the only one able to enter the zone clean and got himself into a solid scoring position (was unable to get the shot off, but still). He's taken massive strides in containing the chaotic-ness of his play and has worked on rounding out other areas of his game too. He's a work in progress still, no doubt, but at least we're seeing progress.

Keefe clearly doesn't trust him. I think his time as a leaf is nearing its end
