  1. Dvorak, Christian ($2,225,000 retained)

TDL 2024

Vancouver will need to improve their center depth if they want to make it far in the playoffs. I think that Garland will be move before the deadline so that will free up the space to acquire Dvorak. He’s a good 3C who plays can play PK and PP + a good faceoff guy. Will give you 35-45 pts per year when healthy.
3.
EDM
  1. Evans, Jake
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
All right hear me out… Evans is like the perfect fit for EDM at 4C. Evans is a great penalty killer and great shutdown guy. He played with Danault and Gally during our playoffs run in 2021. He will help the oilers so much at adding quality depth for once, and is a guy who will give is heart and soul to a team. Edmonton should be over this guy at the 2024 TDL
4.
MTL
CHI
  1. Armia, Joel
  2. Harris, Jordan
  3. 2025 3rd round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
Instead of sending a first for a cap dump mtl sends a 22 years old defenseman with a good upside. (Could be top 4 in his prime). Likely the odd man out on a stacked mtl defenseman pipeline.

Habs should use some of that cap space on a top four defenseman, a goalie, and at least one top-nine forward.

Canucks aren’t paying a 2nd for a center who isn’t an upgrade over Blueger or Suter

Also there’s a very small chance the Canucks move Garland which you mentioned in the trade description. Despite his point totals being down he’s been one of the Canucks best forwards this season

Gee, one of your fellow Montreal fans thinks that Justin Barron would be the centerpiece of a Trevor Zegras trade (the other pieces being Dvorak and a third [!!]).

Not a passing comment, by the way, but an actual posted ACGM.

Haahahah man that guy blows. He has good offensive stats but he isn’t good. Really soft on the back end and he is scared of getting hit. No the type of guy I want playing for my Habs.

The thing is we don’t really need to use that cap space for a top 9 forward or top 4. I rather see playing Roy and Hutson at those spots than signing free agents that don’t represent our future. I will agree for a goaltender, but Monty has been consistent this year and Primeau has been surprisingly good and we have Fowler (who might be the #1 for team USA at the WJC) in the pipeline. So I think we should be patient and trusting our young player development instead of wasting unnecessary money

To be honest I haven’t seen the Nucks play all year, so I don’t know how Blueger is playing for you guys. I only remember Blueger being on a 4th line in Pittsburgh and I thought center depth would be good for you guys. But you’ve seen more Nucks games that I have so you are probably right. Anyways I think that with retained salary Dvorak should get some attention at the deadline, if not in the off-season

Blueger has been a great fit on the 3rd line with Joshua and Garland since coming back from injury. They’ve been the Canucks most consistent line, and for a decent amount of games their best line this season

Hawks LHD prospect pool is very deep, as a result Harris doesn’t hold nearly as much intrigue for Chicago as he may for other teams. Maybe if you swap Beck for Harris.

No way we give Beck. If Chicago refuses we will turn to the cap dump specialist the Arizona coyotes lol

Hard pass on Dvorak. Canucks aren't giving up a 2nd for Mr. Injury prone. Lots of alternatives in the summer including resigning Blueger.

Hawks decline. Habs can keep Harris. Change the 3rd to a 2nd and Hawks probably accept
