Yeah, if the Leafs are going for an old RHD to play the bottom pairing then I would prefer to bring back Schenn somehow.

The interesting thing about Savard for me is that when he played here in Moncton for the Wildcats he was a lights out offensive dman not the defensive stalward he is known for in the NHL

Bro, Savard is worth like a late 1e round or a 2e round and 3e round.

Zary might be one of the Flames only untouchables, along with Wolf, Coronato, and Andersson. A C-tier prospect + 3rd, 5th isn't getting Zary

Easy pass - yes
Keeping savard - unlikely. Just not trading him at 50% retained for 2 5ths lol

Do people not understand that teams can only retain on 3 contracts at a time. The Habs have already retained on 2 through July 1 2024 (Petry and Edmundson) and Petrys runs until 2025. Retaining on Savard or anybody else takes them out of a retained salary deal until July 1. Hughes has expressed in the pst (last year) that he wants that slot available at the draft if possible. Therefore he definitely won’t do it for such an inconsequential return lol

To put it a way TML might get
Its the Kadri/Kessel effect.
You tried playing them above their ability and they were worse for it
You traded both and they won Cups

Savard Went from War % of 37 in TBL to 67% in MTL to 21% last year
So who's his line mate deffinately matters for him to produce at both ends
He needs 20 games to show which version of Savard he is this year, Dr Jekyll or Mr Hyde

Leafs need a top pairing RD that is physical. Brodie will again be steamrolled in the playoffs by the power forwards in the division.
