Sorry but Noah Hanifin isn't extending long term with any Canadian team. Once again he wants the States only. Been confirmed by several insiders. He probably winds up signing long term with home town Boston in the end.

it’s definitely a lot to pay but i’d love these two on TOR. would instantly become the most complete team in the league if Woll was healthy

I don't see the Leafs getting both Tanev and Hanafin.

This Seider guy also said there was no way Bert would ever play for the Leafs. 🤭

That's just one of the many times he's been wrong.

He likes pretending his opinions (usually ripped off from Spector's or Hockey HF Boards) are facts. LOL

Even worse is why??? It's not like those two players really would make much difference to the Leafs. They certainly haven't propelled the Flames to a good defence or a playoff team.

He was willing to sign an 8 year deal with the Flames a month and a half ago so I would not say he is a "states only" player. I think he is very open to extensions. I doubt he ends up in Boston as he probably won't hit free agency and they dont have much in terms of trade value that Calgary would want. My guess is Dallas or NYI

At least you had them take Reaves. Still very expensive.

Value is about right but Toronto (or the vast majority of their fans anyhow) greatly overvalues all their assets. According to them their 4th line players and AHL busts would be in the top 6 on just about any other team. All their prospects are worth their weight in gold too.

Getting Hanifin and Tanev makes us instant contenders in a way the Leafs have never been. Maybe it's a prospect too rich but we're getting them retained. Calgary's going to want good stuff.

The Hanifin-Tanev pair led the damn league in xG% last year.
