The Hawks have their own veterans that they can retain on and move for a better return then a 4th round pick, they definitely decline.

If you think Hawks accept that then your POV of the Hawks & their agenda leaves a bit to be desired. They can get better than a fourth by using their retention slots elsewhere.

NJD doesn't need the retention or samsonov. Keep it simple
