Goalies of Swaymans caliber get 8 in UFA (helle, Sorokin are both a tier above Swayman imo). Hes gonna get like 6+

This offer is probably a bit light on swayman. (Less than the Schneider offer), but somewhere in the ballpark based on my valuation of McLeod as a late 1st

Swayman isn't a game changer... he's a way above average goalie but not a game changer

NJ wants Swayman…those are the only 2 pieces that get them to consider moving him. Take, picks, prospects, mids and shove ‘em.

I get what you’re saying, but he could be a teams next starter for 10 years, at a position that’s hurting a lot of teams right now. Swayman is proven talent with strong numbers to back it up, you don’t get him for random picks and 3rd liners was my point.

Cory Schneider was traded for just the 9th overall pick and he was without a doubt a top 5 goalie at the time.

As good as a goalie is, he will never have the value of a game changer skater.

I can’t think of examples where goalies fetched game changer skaters, unless it was part of a larger package

Mercer - Sway trade is pretty fair. Don’t see Boston doing it. But it’s reasonable.

But if the trade market on Ullmark is as low as I expect it to be, the contract market on a Lindholm is as high as it’s alleged he wants, or sway wants a big contract it may be more prudent asset management to have

Ullmark at 5 mill+ Mercer at 5.5x8

Than

Lindholm at 9.25x8+Swayman at 6x7 (estimate on a contract)+a 2nd and a 3rd

Also the fact that Mercer with 3 extra years of RFA control will likely get a similar deal to a near UFA Swayman shows the value difference in positions

And I also wouldn’t deal McLeod in very many circumstances the same way you wouldn’t move Staal.

Ok Nico is very good but he’s not worth 11 million if he hit FA rn. He had a career year last year and was point per game but hasn’t been that level this year. I think Nico is what people think lindholm is which imo is a 9 million dollar player. Top line Selke caliber guy. No disrespect to lindholm in that either I’d still love if my team traded for him
