I don't mind these trades for Toronto. Leafs fans will disagree but that's only because they don't want to give up anything of real value.

Toronto is a win now team. You improved the team depth and didn't trade Nylander, Minten or Cowan. Nice work. 😁

I'd be a little worried in goal, however. But Woll has looked good when he's played for the most part.

Flames fans will want more for Hanifin. 😉

I'm not a Flames fan but I too think that retained Hanifin and Dubé probably should fetch slightly more than what is offered here smile

It's been close to a full year of you posting TO trades where they send a 1st plus for guys who are not worth remotely that much. You think you'd get sick of it eventually

1st for walker and dumping Samsonov

Walker might get a 2nd, might get 2 3rds, so adding the 2.4 cap hit of samsonov makes the differwence

Walker has been nothing more than a 3rd pair defender his entire career and he's 29. Sure he's been doing well in Philly over less than half a season, but it's a small sample size. Paying for his last 30+ games while ignoring the rest of his career is a great way to make a terrible trade.

Problem with the Philadelphia trade is that the Flyers have no need for Samsonov. They have Carter as the starter and Reason whom is looking like a potential goalie of the future.

The Calgary trade is a great starting point that could do it. Calgary fans would want more but a fan of any team would want more.

I agree in every way, but most rumours have him having good value at deadline and the leafs having a need, and some kind of a deal, I dont disagree that hes worth a 3rd and a bit more, but most publications have his value as higher than that. If the leafs had a 2nd it'd be alot easier to say walker for a 2nd a cap dump of samsonov, (and I dont think I'd give up a 2nd, but I dont think the leafs have the luxury to not address the weaknesses either)

Most rumors these days are extreme speculation aimed at driving clicks. It's all silly. Rumors are useless now. Insiders are no longer insiders but speculation machines. Making stuff up to drive clicks.
