Please dont make a playoffs

Created by: Nik_SH
Team: 2023-24 Nashville Predators
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 1, 2024

Description
First of all, let's be honest Preds are not the playoffs contenders.
Yes, they play well enough to be in playoffs. However do the need that right now?
Don't think so.
Most likely Nashville will be between 20-14th place right before deadline.
So, hopefully, GMBT will not say the same mantra as GMDP (let's make the playoffs and see what happens), and become a seller.

Here is my version of probably most realistic and optimal deadline.
Trades
1.
NSH
  1. Bichsel, Lian
  2. Faksa, Radek
  3. Smith, Craig
  4. 2024 2nd round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
2nd becomes 1st if Dallas win SC
*I would prefer Bourque, but likely he is unavailable. As well as Stankoven.
DAL
  1. Carrier, Alexandre
  2. McCarron, Michael
  3. Smith, Cole
  4. 2024 4th round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
With all these pieces Dallas fixes their needs (4th line players, which is good at PK and physical, as well as skilled RHD).
And also Dave 3,25m for the next season.
2.
NSH
  1. Raanta, Antti
  2. 2024 1st round pick (CAR)
  3. 2025 3rd round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
3rd becomes 2nd if CAR win SC.
---
Also, I would like to see Morrow or Nikishin, but likely they're not available.
CAR
  1. Lankinen, Kevin
  2. Novak, Thomas
Additional Details:
Same situation as Dallas.
High chance to see SCF Carolina-Dallas 😅

Fine with the Carolina trade but the stars are not trading Bischel

You could drop the pick from Dallas' side and they still probably dont part with Bischel. You are also right that Stankoven is going nowhere.

Prices dont seem outlandish though.

If, so... We can change Bishell for the 2024th 1st.
And 2024th 2nd for the 2025th 2nd (but if Dallas win SC in 2024 - becomes 1st, top 10 protected).

No team is putting two 1sts on the line for 4th line depth and a number 4 defenseman

Nothing in that return is worth Dallas parting with Bischel.

There is nothing in that package of players that Dallas would give up Bichsel for.

They don't need 4th line players. Between Smith, Steel, Faksa, & Dellandrea, Dallas already has an overabundance of 4th line players and all of them play on the PK. They are all also a big part of the reason that Dallas has the 2nd best PK in the NHL. 4th line players & PK help are about the farthest thing from what Dallas actually needs.

In regards to them needing a skilled RD, that is true but Carrier isn't the kind of player that is going to net someone like Bichsel. Simplify the deal by taking out everyone except for Carrier & go from there.

I like what the Dallas trade does for Dallas but none of that is worth Bichsel
