Why would you sell Lindgren? The Canes would agree to this I think.

Kuemper hasn't been playing well, and has a bad contract like Campbell. Not sure why Oilers would need to throw in a 1st in that deal.

Take out the second and Buch and Detroit accepts, otherwise no reason to do a deal for Sandin.

you should look deeper into his numbers. like look beyond the score sheet and more in high danger chances given up. Even if DK was horrible you are dumping a 5m sub AHL level goalie for an NHL level goalie that has had recent success and is noticeably better

Capitals have the 2 / 5 best AHL goalies. both are NHL level talents imo

The trade is dumb. Trading a guy to a team with absolutely zero need for him. We have 4 LHD on the roster, one in AHL who should be on the roster, plus 10 LHD prospects.

You have 1 (Walman) thats worth keeping. Easily Move on from Maataa. Improving your roster with young players > prioritizing vets like Chariot and Maata. seems fairly obvious.

Understood, but the difference between them isn't worth Broberg and a 1st rounder. If so, adding Jenson in with retained salary would be appealing to the Oilers IMO.

Spending assets, especially good ones, for a player we have in excess isn't a smart move at all. Chiarot and Maatta still have rolls on this team. Sandin isn't even an upgrade on either. So this move wouldn't even improve the roster so why do it? We have alot of young players coming up. Players like Maatta and Holl and Chiarot are just place holders until they are ready. I Maatta - TVR/ Jensen swap makes sense for us but that's really it.

Do this for Sandin and compare to Maatta and Chiarot. I did already. He isn't an upgrade. He has a higher ceiling for sure and more room to grow but currently he wouldn't be much if any better than what we have.

Walman
Ghost (TDL - replaced by Edvinsson)
Maata (TDL/summer - replaced by Johansson)
Chiarot - not going anywhere in all likelihood
Wallinder

Detroit has enough LHD prospects in house to not spend a mid/high second and good prospect on a position of excess.

My asking price for Chabot is a 1st + two 2nds.

The OP met my asking price and added Milano on top of that.

And I don't see why another team would offer more for Chabot than what Ottawa paid for Chychrun.

Ottawa accepts.

because ARI had better offer for chych but they all involved cap going back to ARI and that was the biggest no no for ARI, that is why OTT got chych for so "cheap", with chabot OTT can take back cap, depending on what it is

1. The difference between Chabot's cap hit and Milano's is 6.1 million.

6.1 million in cap space per year is not something that should be overlooked here.

2. The 2025 1st from Washington is unprotected and unconditional.

3. We get a forward with an offensive flair to his game to add to our bottom 6.

4. We free up an spot on LD for Brannstrom.

5. We get a larger collection of draft picks for acquiring other players on the trade market.
