TDL moving Cirelli

Created by: JTBF81
Team: 2023-24 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 5, 2024
Published: Jan. 6, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
While it's probabaly unlikely that Tampa considers moving Cirelli this early in his deal, he would be the most enticing trade piece to add help on the blueline. Colorado seems like a team that may be interested. Tampa adds Lindholm as a likely rental but who knows, if Stamkos walks in the offseason, they may be able to extend him.

Incoming Avs fans for saying no. As if Cirelli isn’t one of the best playoff performers in NHL history.

I mean it may be too much going Tampa's way, but I feel pretty sure that Byram would have to be the centerpiece coming back. Maybe the picks/prospects would need a bit of altering though.

Cirelli @ 6.5 does not bring you back a great developing young blueliner and a first

Eh, maybe the 1st can be dropped or lowered, but Byram would be needed or there's no deal more than likely.

Tampa doesn't have Gulyayev, so unless they acquire him from the Avs in the Cirelli trade, it would have to be a different prospect if replacing the 3rd.

I just don’t see how cirelli would be worth Byram, and a first+. Maybe a few years ago. Probably need to drop byram

The 1st can be dropped, but if Byram isn't available, I doubt Cirelli is.

I would do 1 for 1 because Byram is having a down year.

I was a Cirelli fan before most, but I'm not sure I'd do Byram for him. If he were making 5M or less it would be a different story, and I feel like the contract will age fine when the cap actually starts to rise, but it's just a tough ask at the moment.

That said, I don't think this is a bad proposal and appreciate that you added Perbix to try and address a need for Colorado (if they were to trade Bo). It's pretty well thought out, but I just don't think it happens.

In the end, that could end up being the deal if neither side wad interested in adding.

Thanks for the feedback!

I can definitely see the 1st being removed or lowered going to Tampa, and as far as the secondary pieces, they could also be up for negotiation(if at all included), but I believe that the crux of the trade would have to be Cirelli for Byram. Tampa would need the defensive addition to address the blueline, so I think whether it was the Avs or another team, Tampa would need a #3/4 type RD coming back.

Poor match then. Byram CAN play RD after a fashion. He's a LHD who is much better on his natural side and average to weak on the right.
