After accounting for the Anderson dump, that leaves Reinbacher, Struble, and one 1st which isn’t enough for Pettersson

Sabres don’t want Allen

BUT

For a 4th, then MAYBE
We’d have to have struck out on a sizable list of goalies we’d rather have though

Levi, UPL is our duo for the foreseeable future, Unless either show significant regression, or want way too much money. Allen isn't even good enough and Pegula probably doesnt want to spend another 7 mill on AHLers

I mostly agree
An upgrade in goal is certainly possibly though if the price is right (not referring to Allen here, just saying improving on the Levi/UPL duo is 100% being looked into)

Anderson is not a dump. He had a difficult start of the season but since the start of December, he deserve every dollar of his contract.

If UPL and Levi keep playing at the level they are, idk where you find an upgrade. The only goalies worth having then wouldn't be available

That joke of an offer isn't getting Elias Pettersson out of Vancouver.

And no Sam Reinhart isn't signing with a Habs team in a massive rebuild.

If you take out Anderson it's not a terrible offer, but the Canucks aren't trading Pettersson.

Why would we trade a cheap 4th line center for a 5th rounder? Thats dumb 😂

I’m not gonna pretend to know exactly who is available & who isn’t…. BUT….
The Sabres have been calling about goalies since last year,
and STILL are
That’s not to say we WILL pull off a trade,
but all i said was that it’s POSSIBLE

Levi/UPL have been pretty inconsistent this season
Levi was great against MTL, but was bad in his previous 4 games letting in a total of 15goals in those games & a save% .879 in his last 5 games, in which the Sabres went 1-4
UPL hasn’t been much better in his last 5 games,
2-2-1 record with a save% of .893

Seems like you’re under the impression that our goalies have been “good” lately,
but they really haven’t

They’ve been up & down, and actually more down than up

They've been league average which is an improvement over last year. They're both under 25, goalies don't hit their prime until their late 20s on average, unless theyre superstars. If they've been calling for over a year and nothings really even been rumored, helps my point imo

What stats of theirs are league average???
Bc their save% sure isn’t

Carter Hart is an example of a goalie who is better, that could be available, that we have been interested in (called on him this past summer)
Price was just too high at the time

xGSAA GSAx etc. Save% is easy to look at but is getting to be like +/-, doesn't paint the whole picture. Just look at Comrie the year before they signed him

“Expected” stats are subjective though,
so their accuracy is also questionable

What’s NOT questionable is that we have 2 young goalies
And while they’re talented & great at times, their inconsistent & quite bad too often to be depended on in a starting role

So we should absolutely be on the lookout for someone better & more consistent- and Adams is (and has been)
That doesn’t mean he will make a deal,
but it also doesn’t mean he’ll quit trying either
