We want ALL the 2019 draft

VAN fans - Is Podz available? He seems to have fallen off a cliff since his NHL debuts. What is happening with the kid? I remember how good he looked at the WJC.

ANA fans - if it's true - would you consider this offer? I imagine pretty boy wants to stay in Cali (I would too after spending 2 hours yesterday shoveling snow.)

No to both

Podzolkin is at best on the same tier as Mesar. 3rd line guy. Id rather get the higher pick to trade or move up in the draft

Zegras is a 2nd line winger. Dude has a career average of 0.73 ppg. There are 80 ish players doing that this season. Also never had a season woth over 0.083 xGF/60 so the guy cant play drive. Id rather use those pieces and add to them and get someone genuinely elite

Zegras was dealing with a nagging injury. Can't imagine Anaheim would trade him when his value is at the lowest

I don't know about that - I feel Podz would have a lot more to offer under MSL. I think Mesar is maybe better than what we think.

As for Zegras, Habs need an injection of pure talent. We have other play driver - but we need someone with hands and half board skills - we can't win all games with dump and chase.

I agree that there is no rush to trade him... unless the negociations have soured the relationship with management.

Podz had an up and down season for the Canucks.
The first trade would make sense just caz Podz needs a fresh start, and I think he could be a good fit for the Montreal Canadiens.

I don't think Podz is on the table. Management is very high on him, and he'll get an opportunity to crack the NHL roster next year as there isn't a spot for him this year. If he struggles and can't make the roster next year, then I think that's when discussions will start to be had on him and his future with the team.

Habs have exactly 0 elite play drivers on the roster and the one thing they actually excel in is board play woith Suzuki and Slaf being very good at it. Zegras is the exact opposite of the type of play they need.

Weather they have or not, he doesn't have to talk to management for 2.5 years, plenty of time to mend bridges, or wait for his play to recover, before considering moving him, and it wouldn't be for a grab bag of lesser assets, it would be a long the lines of the Gauthier trade, one for one with minor additions to balance.

IMO - It's a better package than what PHI got for Gauthier.

But yeah, I'm just proposing this trade based on the assumption that ANA wants to move on (assumption raised by Twitter "experts").

I suspect Verbeek has reservations about Zegras not being a long term piece and would move him for the right trade, but what Anaheim needs is high end talent, so without that piece coming the other way, Zegras doesn't move. Not fitting into the long term vision doesn't mean selling low just for sh*TS and giggles.
