When the best asset you're trading is a LhD to play behind Cam Fowler, Pavel Mintyukov, Jackson LaCombe and Olen Zellweger, the offer is insufficient.

Even if Trevor Zegras is on the market, and I seriously doubt it, I think you have to start with a 2024 first and a top-6 RW prospect or top-4 RhD prospect.

Zegras did just go down with an injury so remains to be seen if/how long he's out... but I was slightly surprised to see his name in trade rumours but ANA is giving me "BUF vibes" from a few years ago... and Zegras might be the Eichel who gets moved to reset the rebuild... but if he's available then absolutely Dubas should be in on him... the only way to sustain the penguins success and go into the next era of pens hockey is to acquire younger high end players...
