Chabot should be moved not Chychrun. And certainly not for less than what Dorion paid. 1st + 2nd + 2nd.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Chychrun is clearly our best Dman, arguably our best player this season. This is so obviously not a guy you consider trading.

What if it’s either move Chychrun or be forced to keep him and extend him and no one wants to take Chabot

This is probably slightly more than what Dorian paid but then again his value will have gone down if anything as he's now burned another yr of that cheap contract.

He’s also better than he was in Arizona so his value is up. And Arizona was getting pick 6-12 most likely in a hella deep draft.

That's totally okay, it's a decline then.

Hunter is a B+ prospect wasn’t even invited to team Canada for a reason. He’s not some A level prospect like you think he is. Not wanting to part with Willander for Chychrun is one thing but Hunter ? It would get u fired

Right now there are four guys you definitely don't move on this team. Chychrun, Stützle, Sanderson and Tkachuk. There's simply no way to justify trading Chych. He's a 1D playing for his dream team.

Deadass, you make it work. Keeping Chychrun is a must. Also worst case scenario, Ottawa can manage if they eat a bit of salary on Chabot (I still think it's not gonna be needed if Ottawa takes salary back). Teams would be lining up to get Chabot at 7.5-6.5 mil if the market was somehow so cold on him at 8mil.

He wasn't invited to Team Canada because he's American, that's the reason. Team USA didn't invite him because they don't like American players choosing to play somewhere else other than the USHL/NCAA.

I'm fine to part with Brzustewicz, I just wouldn't pay more than a 1st + Brzustewicz if I were Vancouver; hence the decline. Brzustewicz is a blue-chip prospect at this point, you'd be hard-pressed to find a player doing as well as he is in two 2nd round picks. Chychrun was moved for a 1st + 2nd + 2nd, and I wouldn't pay more than that price for Chychrun now. I think Brzustewicz has the value of two 2nd round picks. If you don't believe Brzustewicz is worth two 2nd round picks, then I'd happily move a 1st + 2nd + 2nd for Chychrun.

That’s not the same value because at the time of the trade the 1st was like 8th overall in a much better draft, the Vancouver 1st will be like 25th in a weaker draft. Not the same

I'm comparing it to Hronek last year, who has been the better player since both trades and is a RHD (higher value). A 1st (17th) + 2nd (this year) for Hronek is equal to #25 + 2nd 2025 + 2nd 2026. That's how much I'd be willing to trade for Chychrun, that's the market for defensemen. I understand if the Sens don't like that package, and based on the market that's about what Chychrun is worth.

Don’t hate that move in the offseason for the Canucks, although I’d try to negotiate the 2nd round pick down. Also depends on what Chychrun wants on an extension
