I've seen that and understand, but I think that's too much to pay to lose a 35 point guy

If MTL was interested in him, they would have offered a 7th to Nashville last june and beat the Avs offer.

By the same logic, if MTL isn't interested in Jo @$4M AAV for free, you'll need to retain another 50% to get some kind of return. Money wise a mid-3rd sounds reasonable.

well, my opinion is not that ryjo is really bad, its that most teams with cap space will push colorado to pay for to move him even though is not much of a cap dump, jusy because of little leverage they have. dont think any team with cap space will really want him otherwise.

No problem taking on Johansen, but zero interest in paying more than Colorado did to get him when there's no good reason to. Replace the 3rd with someone like Mitchell Stephens and its a deal.

I proposed in a deleted thread that we trade Dvorak for Ryjo.
Dvorak being out for the season gives them cap space (Lindholm?).
It changes nothing otherwise. Montreal still has a C for now that they will move next season and Colorado will still have a $4M 3C under contract next year.

It's a small increase, but yes. The goal is this season and figure the rest out in the off season.

i agree in vaccum, if he was signed for less $ and had no extra year, mane team would take ryjo on their team.
